Gun Safety: Orientation

At the Tulsa Gun Club, we prioritize safety and education to ensure every member and visitor has a secure and enjoyable experience. Our Gun Orientation program is designed for both new and experienced gun owners to provide comprehensive training on firearm safety, handling, and operation.

Range Safety

 

At Tulsa Gun Club, safety is our top priority to ensure a secure and enjoyable shooting experience for all members, guests, and visitors. We want each person who comes to our facility to have a great experience with a secure feeling knowing that safety is our number one focus.  We enforce strict safety rules that must be followed at all times.

General Safety Rules

 
  1. Treat Every Firearm as Loaded: Always assume a firearm is loaded until you confirm it is not.

   

  1. Muzzle Control: Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction—downrange or pointed at the ground when not on a range.

   

  1. Trigger Discipline: Keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.

   

  1. Firearm Handling: Keep firearms unloaded and actions open when not actively shooting. Only load when on the shooting bench or station.

   

  1. Eye and Ear Protection: Wear eye and ear protection at all times on or near any field or range.

 

  1. Supervision: Anyone under 16 must be supervised by an adult to shoot rifles or shotguns; under 18 for pistols.

 

  1. No Consumption: No food, drinks, smoking, or alcohol on ranges. Impaired individuals are not permitted to shoot.

 

  1. Clean-Up: Dispose of trash, pick up hulls, and maintain cleanliness after shooting.

 

  1. Respect: Always respect others and the environment. 

 

  1. Responsibility: You are responsible for your guest’s safety.
